The 11th annual Aerial Dance Festival 2009 provides an opportunity for people from all walks of life to experience the joy of dancing in the air –– for beginners through advanced aerial dancers. Join us for a 2–week immersion through classes, lectures/demonstrations, informal discussions, and performances. The Festival is produced by Frequent Flyers Productions, Inc., a non–profit, aerial dance–theatre company.

TRANSPORTATION DURING THE FESTIVAL

Students should not schedule back-to-back classes between CU and the Boulder Circus Center, unless the student has a car.

REGISTRATION

Participants must be 10 years of age or older, except where noted in the class descriptions. A liability waiver and insurance form must be signed by each participant 18 or over, or by a legal guardian or parent if the student is under 18. After registering, these will be mailed to you.

Registration & Fee Payment

Before July 10th, 50% of fee payment is due with mail–in registration to secure a place in classes. Class sizes are limited to allow access to the aerial equipment, so register early. Full fee payment is due by July 10 and registrations thereafter require full payment. Failure to complete payment will result in forfeiture of a secured place in classes. Check or money orders only, made payable to Frequent Flyers Productions. Foreign students MUST send money orders in U.S. dollars. We do not accept credit cards. ***Students will be placed on the wait list for 1st choice classes if full at time of registration and enrolled in 2nd choice classes. If 2nd choice classes are also full, student will be contacted.

Students must register for the full class session as material is contiguous. No drop–ins. A one–time $20.00 registration fee is required for each student to cover administrative overhead.

Refund Policy

The $20 registration fee is not refundable. Refunds will not be issued until after the ADF 2009, no exceptions. 100% of the payment (minus the $20 registration fee) is refundable through June 12th. From June 13th through July 10th, 90% of the payment is refundable. From July 11th through July 24th, 80% of the payment is refundable. After July 24th there will be NO REFUNDS.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Frequent Flyers Productions is offering one full–tuition scholarship for the Aerial Dance Festival 2009 of up to $1,000 toward classes at the Festival. Housing, travel, and food are the responsibility of the student. The Glenn P. Davis Scholarship will be awarded to a dancer already exploring choreography in the air. The University of Colorado dance program offers BA, BFA and MFA degrees with broad stylistic training in modern, ballet, African and other world dance styles, The MFA degree stresses performance/choreography with a secondary area of emphasis (including somatics, multi-media, dance film/video, production, history, and others) based on the student's personal interests.
